AFRICA’S RICHEST MAN OTHERS GRACED THE 22ND CONVOCATION CEREMONY OF AMBROSE ALLI UNIVERSITY EKPOMA.

Africa richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote; Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki,Niger State Governor Sanni Bello, Speaker Edo State House of Assembly Rt.Hon Frank Akiye on Saturday graced the 22nd convocation ceremony of the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.

Today being Saturday 19th of October 2019 and happens to be the last event for the 22nd Convocation ceremony, saw the award of higher degrees and honorary degrees to recipients.

Other dignitaries at the ceremony include Edo state commissioner of Education, ; the Enogie of Ekpoma HRH, Zaiki Anthony Ehizogie Abumere 11, JP , among others.

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Ignatius Onimawo highlighted some of the achievements in the last 3 years of which includes, awards,internet operations, 100% accreditation, infrastructural development, IGR initiatives etc, the Vice Chancellor also made calls for the perimeter fencing though ongoing , hostel accommodation, roads and also partners in investment initiatives.

Gambia’s Minister of Trade represented his boss and the country’s president, Adama Barrow, who also received a honorary degree award.

The pre endowment lecturer and former head of state Major Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar GCFR who was ably represented by the Governor of Niger State Alh. Abubakar Sanni Bello delivered the pre endowment lecture

President, Dangote Group of Companies Alh. Aliko Dangote GCON promised to build one hostel for the male student and another one for the female students.

The Executive Governor of Niger State Alh. Abubakar Sanni Bello also made a donation of 10 million naira

Governor Obaseki, on his part, promised two megawatt Turbine for 24 hours power supply, and the construction of 2km road inside AAU campus.

The Governor also announced the donation of free WiFi connection for everyone, which he said will launch all those within the school environment on the internet.

General Anthony Ukpo(Rtd) Former Minister of Information, Federal Republic of Nigeria,
Mr. Emmanuel Ikhazoboh, Chairman, Ecobank Transnational Corporation, Lagos
Dr. Sorry Age Okojie, CEO/MD, DAF Homes & Estate Ltd, Lagos and
Chief(Dr.) E.A Ainabe, Ojomo of Ekpoma, Chairman, Seek Group of Companies.

A total of 478 graduands were convocation of the higher degrees which includes Ph.D, M.Phil, M.Sc, MPA, MBA, and PGD

Present at the convocation ceremony includes members of the governing council,principal officers of the university, members of the university senate, the press , staff and students of the university
