Following the directive by the School Management instructing students to resume for the 2018/2019 Academic session after the Senate Meeting despite the nationwide strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Which entered its 85th day yesterday Monday the 28th of January, 2019.
In compliance to the school senate directive the school environment was flooded with students flopping into campus for their various lectures. The mother of them all was Gst101,102 for 100 level students and Ent 201, many other courses from different departments were also taught.
In this regard, Team AAU ONLINE NEWS went round the campus, interviewing some students on the new development. Many students expressed their satisfaction with the development after a long stay at home due to the ongoing Asuu strike.
In a short interview session with the University P.R.O Mr. Edward Aihevba who stated that lectures has commenced in progress and encourage others who are yet to, to resume as lectures had already began in various departments across levels. Also speaking with Dean, faculty of law, Prof. Sunny Edeko who was fully in charge of GST 101, 102 classes , also stated his views on why he support the school reopening as he doesn’t believe strike is not the best option but negotiations.
