Executive Chairman, Igueben Local Government Hon (Bldr) Dr. Josie Ogedegbe (JP) MNIOB, has said that his administration will continue to support child education initiatives to guarantee them of sound basic educational foundation.
Dr. Josie disclosed this when he received members of the Egbele George Washington Foundation who paid him a courtesy visit at the council secretariat in Igueben.
The council boss commended the organization and expressed his readiness to partner with them in re-positioning the educational system in the local government area and assured that Igueben local government would continue to make sure students and pupils in every public school in the local government area remain in their classes during School hours.
He explained that the task force officers constituted by this administration are in our streets and towns to apprehend and hand over any student found roaming around the streets during school hours to the Nigeria Police and our students and pupils are familiar and aware of the penalties for offenders.
He maintained that the government would ensure that those found culpable are made to face the music so as to serve as a deterrent to others.
In his remarks, the Founder of the organization, Ambassador Egbele George Washington said they were at the council secretariat to intimate their support to the campaign against illicit drug abuse and dropout school children in the local government.
He said the organization was set up to contribute its quota to the development of the society and added that it would help in the area of returning street children back to school.
